The Featured Car section is to highlight a club member's car. We will accept any aircooled VW regardless of condition. We want to see all of your works in progress and learn more about them. Show off all that hard work by submitting your VW pics and detailed info on your car. Before and after pics are a plus. Add any stories that go along with the pics. Penny Holcomb's 1968 TYPE 3 SQUAREBACK

ENGINE: 1600 dual carburated

MODS: Baby Webers, All stock except Gretchen the mannequin.

This is my 4th air cooled VW. As a child I can remember my father owning a beetle and letting us kids ride on the running boards as he went down some dirt roads (slowly) don't try at home. I've owned 3 beetles. A '63 in the mid 70's, and 65 when Feazy was born, and got a 71 in the early 80's. After getting into VWs I knew I wanted to own a T3 one day. So around 35 years later I bought this 68 out of the Tampa region.
I agree with my son when he says he father was a VW fanatic! Always collecting, always working on them, modifying them. I can remember him breaking his hand trying to install a bus rear end in a bug.
I love collecting time period items to display with my car. I also love dressing Gretchen up to look like a 60's flower girl :) well, here she is.
